Protests

Depression riots 1932

I strongly agree and support the depression protest because people were so suffered and frustrated.  Lots and lots of people lost their jobs and many of them went hungry.  The worse thing was that the government did't do more help to solve the problems. The people did't get good clothes food and shelters. Police were involved to stop the people. the wharves were shut down by the government. This caused a huge disaster for the economy of NZ because other countries could not trade in goods and services.

  1. I would imagine that would of been a terrible time to live & go thru. GG was alive then and I remember him telling me stories about the depression. Sounded very sad :(
