orana park

On Tuesday we went to Orana Park  and we learnt some facts about the animals here are some :

Three things I enjoyed about the trip are:
1. Seeing the rhinos, the gorilla and the meerkats.
2. I liked learning about the different animals we got to see like the Tigers, Lions and Kiwi's.
3. I liked seeing the gorilla being funny😆 jumping around and putting his hand on the window.

Poachers that kill rhinos for their horns that say its medicine that does not do anything it is made out of the same stuff as our hair and nails.

If you stare at a gorilla in the eyes it feels threatened.

In the meerkats group if you are not the alpha and you have kids you will be kicked out of the group and your babies will be killed

TERM 3 NEW BUILDINGS 😃

To day I am going to writing about or new buildings we moved in on monday

When I walked into our  new buildings I saw... heaps! of colours and furniture and  TVs and two! kitchen.

When I walked into our new buildings I thought... I didn't  really like it because all of the other buildings look the same!

When I walked into our new buildings I felt... shocked! and a little bit cold because there was no! heat pumps and it was  really colourful and big! and the

teachers have there own hangout spot!

Climate Chaos

Title`

Solar energy

Aim

What colour attracts the heat   from the sun

Hypothesis

My hypothesis  is that the black is going to attract the most heat

Materials

White paper White cup Black piece of plastic
Clear cup
Black plastic cover
Piece of tinfoil
Silver cup/ cup covered in tin foil
 Heat lamp
100ms of water in each cup
thermometer
timer

Steps

get your materials
Put your plastic sheet ,white paper and your tinfoil and put them on your table
put your clear cup and put the black bag cover on it
put your other cups on the cloloured material\
 pour in your water
plug in your heat lamp in
check the temperature every 5 minutes

Data/Findings

I found that black attracts most heat from the sun
White cup got up to 17,c
The black cup got up to 18,c
The silver cup got up to 17,c

Conclusion

my finding in this experiment state that black is the one that attracts most heat
black plastic helped to the experiment to work

SCIENCE! 😎(^.^)

today at SCIENCE we did a new experiment it is about co2 and what co2 do to our planet!

Climate Chaos

Title

Water cycle

Purpose

Materials

  • 1x large ziplock bag
  • Blue food colouring
  • Water
  • Vivid
  • tape

Steps

Get your ziplock bag
Draw the water cycle on your bag with vivid
Put water in your bag
Put 2 drops of food colouring
Put tape on the bag
Hang the bag on a window that has sun

Conclusion

I think the outcome of this experiment will be
There will be more blue water and condnsation

What actually happened…

  • 1x large ziplock bag
  • Blue food colouring

  • Water
  • Vivid
  • Tape
  • Litmus paper
  • Baking soda

Steps

Get your ziplock bag
Draw the water cycle on your bag with vivid
Put water in your bag
Put 2 drops of food colouring and a teaspoon of backing soda
Put tape on the bag and put litnus paper on the corner
Hang the bag on a window that has sun

Conclusion

I think the outcome of this experiment will be
There will be more blue water and condnsation

What actually happened…

The Water Cycle: Bag 1
CO2 Water Cycle: Bag 2
Acid
Desert Water Cycle
Bag 3
Does it cycle?
22
Amount of Water
22
Acidity
11

Key: Water and acidity amount: 1 = none

2 = small
3 = large

1st bag there was not much change
1st bag the gas did not change at all

2nd bag the gas did not change at all
2nd bag there was not much change

the first watar cycle had averge sized dropplets.the second bag had some accid and there was not as much water and there was more acid

THE GREEN HOUSE GASSES ;-)

AIM: TO LOOK AT CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT.

    THE GREENHOUSE GASES EXPLAINED.

    The Greenhouse Effect experiment

    Materials

    1. 1 plastic bottle
    2. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda and Citric Acid
    3. 1 heat lamp
    4. 1 Thermometer
    5. 100 ml water
    6. 1 rubber bung

    Procedure

    1 Collect materials.

2 Setting up the lights, bottles, thermometer and bungs.
3 Add the baking soda mix along with 100m of water.

4 Wait 5 minutes then start recording all water added to bottles was from class tap.

    Findings:The Greenhouse Effect Data

    Minutes
    Bottle 1: Water
    Bottle 2: CO2 Gas

    25No recNo rec
    30No recNo rec
    35No recNo rec

    Conclusion:
The normal water did't heat up as much as the one with gas in it this is just like climate change.

    climate change causes

    transportation
most cars need gas or diesel to work

factories making clothes cars electronice and processed

COWS cows create a green gas called methane when they burp and fart.

FOOD We need food to survive but it creates a lot of pollu-

ELECTRICITY Electricity is a form of energy used to power almost

LANDFILL Our landfills are growing and using up more healthy
